What exactly is trail running?

Popular whatever the weather, trail running is about enjoying everything that the great outdoors has to offer. It’s escaping the surfaced, paved paths, and stepping up your game on the uneven landscapes of leafy, rural areas. When it comes to everyday running, your heart rate and pace are a priority, however with trail it’s the entire experience that takes centre stage. It’s the surroundings and mindset you’ll feel from the ever-changing, unpredictable and (often) uphill route.

 –  Look out for running trainers that can easily adapt to grass, rocks and the changeable paths you’ll encounter along the way. Ensure yours trainers are super flexible for maximum comfort as you step up the pace.

–  Changing temperatures and unpredictable forecasts can post their own challenges, but try to choose fabrics that’ll complement your journey. We’re talking sweaty-wicking materials, waterproof finishes, thermal fabrics

–  Handy accessories, like caps and protective gloves, and socks with targeted cushioning are designed to make your run even more enjoyable. These considered details can make all the difference while minimising distractions and discomfort.
