Wes Morgan was a surprise goalscorer for Leicester City in his Nike Magista Opus, who took advantage of Tottenham’s draw at Liverpool to go seven points clear at the top. He makes our Premier League team of the weekend but who joins him?
Ben Foster

With Jack Butland’s injury against Germany Roy Hodgson will have to bring another keeper into his England squad, and Foster is doing everything he can to earn a recall. His display against Sunderland this weekend left Sam Allardyce ‘wanting to shoot him’, will that be enough for a place on the plane to France?
Hector Bellerin

Arsenal have slipped away in the title race but they bounced back well this weekend with a thumping 4-0 win over Watford. Bellerin was part of an Arsenal back four that kept a clean sheet, but also managed a first goal in nearly a year in a great all-round display.
Wes Morgan

With every passing week it looks more and more likely that Leicester will pull off the most unlikely of title upsets and win the Premier League. Their recent formula has been impenetrable defence and crucial goals. Morgan provided both this weekend, although the 25-cap Jamaican international might not get the England call-up that Harry Redknapp was calling for in his Telegraph column…
Daley Blind

It’s rare for Manchester United to fly under the radar but another 1-0 win kept them within a point of Manchester City and the top four. Everton were the victims on this occasion, and Blind played a large role in helping keep Romelu Lukaku quiet for the visitors to Old Trafford. A decent week for the Dutchman after helping Netherlands beat England on Tuesday.
Martin Olsson

At the bottom of the table no game had more riding on it than Newcastle’s trip to Norwich. The game didn’t disappoint and Olsson provided the game’s stand-out moment. With the sides locked at 2-2, Olsson popped up with a stunning finish to give Norwich a win that might end up saving their Premier League status.
Kevin De Bruyne

Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero might be Man City’s two most important players, but the return of De Bruyne showed how much his absence has been felt. The standout player in the 4-0 hammering of Bournemouth, De Bruyne scored one and was City’s best player for an hour. Paris Saint Germain will have to watch out for him on Wednesday.
Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool’s focus might be on the Europa League and a match-up with Jurgen Klopp’s former club, but they put a dent into Tottenham’s title hopes on Saturday. In an entertaining game, Coutinho managed another fine goal, his first in seven games. That brings him to ten for the season, the most by a Liverpool player.
Dimitri Payet

Crystal Palace thought they had found the way to stop Payet’s free-kicks when they put seven in the wall on Saturday. No matter, he just went to the other side with an unstoppable effort. Right now free-kicks within 30 yards for West Ham are almost the equivalent of penalties, what a player.
Pedro

One of the flops of the season so far, Pedro certainly enjoyed facing hapless Aston Villa this weekend. The former Barcelona man scored twice in the 4-0 thumping at Villa Park and almost had a hat-trick. A first-half effort was ruled out for offside, but in the first minute of the second half he made up for it, finishing a fine move, before taking advantage of a Brad Guzan error for his second.
Alex Iwobi

Described as ‘something special’ by Arsene Wenger, Iwobi is flourishing having broken into the Arsenal team in recent weeks. A goal-scorer against Watford, he looks like he might be the striker Arsenal have been lacking, although it seems to have come too late for the title challenge.
Alexandre Pato

When it comes to debuts, not many have a better record than Pato. He’s had to bide his time at Chelsea, 64 days to be precise, but he took full advantage against Villa, with a penalty to add to debut strikes for Internacional, Milan, Brazil and Corinthians. Not bad going!
